Patch of the Hour?

(Author’s note: I had originally written this post about a month ago, but had been waiting for the images of these items.     Since I seem unlikely to get them soon, I thought I’d post this without them.     If anyone can supply these images, please send them to me.   Thanks.)

Years ago, lodges that had repuations for issuing a large number of patches were called “Patch of the Month” lodges.     At the last couple of NOACs some lodges, Totanhan Nakaha for example, have taken to issuing a patch for  set for each day of the conference.  Now this has been taken to the inevitable next level.

Brothers of Alibamu 179 recently attended the SR-4N conclave.     At that event lodge 179 brothers were passing out items that have been described online as either composite or paper. Since these can be described  as paper, I’m not sure if Blue Book would consider these to be patches.     A set was listed in eBay shortly after conclave.

Mike Bazonis writes, that if these were to be listed as patches, they should be listed in this order:

eX2007-1    Rode the bus
eX2007-2  It’s 7:25 on Friday
eX2007-3  Read the newsletter
eX2007-4  Ate dinner Friday
eX2007-5  Shook Larry’s hand
eX2007-6  Hi, I’m Al E. Bamu are you Mr. Axe?
eX2007-7  Went to the show
eX2007-8  Traded some patches
eX2007-9  Ate Saturday morning
eX2007-10  Went to 4 sessions
eX2007-11  Watched ceremonies
eX2007-12  Bought a Coke
eX2007-13  Haven’t had a patch in almost 2 hours
eX2007-14  Ate lunch Saturday
eX2007-15  Played Wischixin
eX2007-16  Patch #16
eX2007-17  Took a shower
eX2007-18  Saturday night grub
eX2007-19  Got an award
eX2007-20  Got ‘em all!!!

Have we now gone from “patch of the month”, to “patch of the day”, to “patch of the hour”?

Are these patches?     I don’t really know and will follow whatever the Blue Book editors decide to do with these.
