1956 Area 6-A Neckerchief Slide

After I had written my previous post on the 1956 Area 6-A Fellowship, it was pointed out to me that there was a neckerchief slide for this event as well as the pocket patch.

Well, that is true… kind of.

The wooden slide, pictured to the left, was made in 1955 by Wahissa lodge brothers.     It was intended to publicize the upcoming 1956 Area 6-A fellowship that Wahissa was preparing to host at Camp Raven Knob.     As far as I know it was not an official issue of Area 6-A.

As you might imagine, this is a difficult issue to find.     I suspect not many were made.     Even though, it is not strictly an Area 6-A item those who collect North Carolina section conclave material seek this item to complete their collections.     At a minimum it’s an interesting piece of collateral material.
