Lodge 560: 2008 Camp Bud Shiele CSPs
This is the first of a few posts I will be making over the next several days covering recent issues from Eswau Huppeday lodge. Thanks to Jimmy Arthurs for sending word of these patches and the images.
Following the practice of the past four years, Eswau Huppeday produced two CSPs (council shoulder patch) shaped patches for Camp Bud Schiele. In past years there was only one CSP but this year they added a second “staff” patch, pictured here.
Upon reading the comments to another recent post, it seems many may not regard this patch as a lodge issue, but I disagree. Since it was issued by the lodge, I consider it a lodge issue regardless of its shape or use.
The lodge name does not appear on these patches. Rather “WWW 560″ is in dark blue on the dark blue background beside the US and North Carolina flags. Listing data for these two patches are as follows:
| Issue | Bdr Color/Type | Bkgd | Name | fdl/BSA | Comments | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| X27? | BLK | R | DBL | DBL | YEL | BSA, DBL 560; Camp Bud Schiele 2008 Summer of Heroes, CSP shape |
| X28? | BLK | R | DBL | DBL | YEL | BSA, DBL 560; Camp Bud Schiele Staff 2008 Summer of Heroes, CSP shape |

I think these are a little different from the centennial CSP as these have reference to Eswau and the Order…560 & WWW even though they do not pecifically have Eswau Huppeday Lodge on the patch. I agree with you on this…they ARE lodge issues and should be listed as X’s.
Occoneechee’s 2009 NOAC CSP / odd shape will be similar as they have the council name, WWW, and lodge number….Good marketing as they can be sold as both a CSP and OA odd shape..You get a new issue for all collectors.
Duh ….learn to hit the “specific” keys next time…
