BSA Centennial Coin
I have to admit up front, I am surprised this happened. I didn’t expect this to pass through the current Congress.
President Bush recently signed into law the Boy Scouts of America Centennial Commemorative Coin Act (H.R. 5872). This law authorizes the minting of 350,000 silver dollar coins to honor the BSA’s centennial in 2010.
The BSA has issued a press release about this coin:
…à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“It is a great honor for the Scouts to be recognized with this Centennial Commemorative coin. We thank the President, the House and the Senate, especially Congressman Sessions and Senator Sessions for their support,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ said Bob Mazzuca, Chief Scout Executive, Boy Scouts of America. This is a treasured moment in the history of our organization and we are grateful for the millions of Scouts and volunteers who have served as the foundation of our success for nearly 100 years.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ …
The final design for this coin has yet to be determined. The “coin” shown is not what will be released.
For further details, please see the press release from the Boy Scouts of America.
