1961 Area 6-E Conference
Timuquan 340 hosted the 1961 Area VI-E Conference held at Camp Soule. The pocket patch is pictured here. Other than the camp name there is no explicit reference on this patch to the host lodge.
Like in 1959 and 1960, there was also a neckerchief produced for this event. The design of the neckerchief is similar to the pocket patch. The design was modified and rendered in a “pie” shape and embroidered directly onto a white neckerchief. A red and white ribbon border was added to complete the neckerchief.
There is also another conclave patch that has been erroneously attributed to Area 6-E because of a typographical error on the patch. I believe this is the 1961Area 4-E patch. If you look at the totems at the top of the patch you see what could be the totems of many of the West Virginian lodges. These include what could be the chipmunk of Thal-Coo-Zyo 457 or the squirrel of Adjudimo 210, the wolf’s head of Hytone 410, and the thunderbird of Wachu Menetopolis 475 or Buckongehannon 527.
Eckale Yakanen 552 was chartered in 1961, serving the territory previously served by Calusa 219. I do not know if they attended this conference. With this addition, the following eight lodges were now in this area:
- Seminole 85
- Echockotee 200
- Aal-Pa-Tah 237
- O-Shot-Caw 265
- Tipisa 326
- Timuquan 340
- Chiriqui 391
- Eckale Yakanen 552
