Update: Thanks to Dale DeLozier for correcting the camp. I had originally believed this meeting was at Camp Wopsononock, but in fact it was at Camp Wisawanik.

The lodges of Area 3B met in 1958 at Camp Wisawanik in Bedford County, Pennsylvania; Wopsononock Lodge #347 hosted the Pow Wow. This was both the first meeting at the camp and the first hosted by Wopsononock Lodge.

The embroidered patch for the event is on white twill and features the Zuni Sun God totem of Wopsononock Lodge.

There were also neckerchiefs issued for this event, featuring a silk-screened dark blue or black design with the Wopsononock totem inside a triangle with all the participating lodge numbers. This neckerchief exists in at least two colors, yellow and green, both with pinked edges.

Both the patch and the neckerchiefs identify this as the “11th” Area 3B event; although the first 3B meeting was in 1948, because there was no 1949 meeting this was probably the tenth actual gathering of Area 3B.

  1. Dale DeLozier Says:

The Conclave was actually held at Camp Wisawanik in Pavia, Bedford County PA, not Wopsononock. Camp Wopsononock was not Blair Bedford property until mid 1959 and opened in 1960.
