Yes John,

The above list is accurate and matches http://www.oasections.com/WR2008R.html
Ken Hayashi, Western Region Committee, forwarded the official announcement from the region.

Also, in October two lodges were moved to different sections than were previously announced Papago 494 was with what is now called W-6E, and Tiwahe 45 was with what is now called W-6W. The maps that have been on the region's site included these two changes.

While the Areas themselves did not change, you will notice that they were renumbered as compared to the original announcement:

Area 1 was 'D'
Area 2 was 'B' (no change)
Area 3 was 'F'
Area 4 was 'C'
Area 5 was 'A'
Area 6 was 'E'

I also think that the north, east, south, west letters make it easier to visualize things instead of the A, B, C, etc.

Careful observers will note that more than the section names changed, some lodges were moved about too. From the perspective of this curmudgeon thousands of miles away it looks like an improvement.

The organization by section is different that what was first announced. It appears the Western Region website has since revised the map shown on their original release (http://western.oa-bsa.org/article.php?id=32 ) to reflect these changes. On that release, the text below does not match up exactly with the map above.

Roy More has a PDF of the original list on his site (http://thescoutpatchauction.com/blogsite/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/wregoa_08.pdf )
