Lodge 118: 2008 Events Issues
This is the fourth of several posts I will be making about recent and unlisted items from Wahissa lodge. Many thanks to Travis Gentry for sending me these images and data
As in 2005 , Wahissa lodge broke with their tradition issued five events patches for the principle lodge events in 2008. Patches were issued for the Spring and Fall fellowships, lodge workday, lodge banquet, and ordeal. When pieced together these patches form a totem pole. The Spring Fellowship patch is pictured here.
There was also a six patch issued for the 2008 Feather Fest. As with the 2007 Feather Fest issue this is intended to be a two sided patch. An embroidered rosette is attached to the backside of this patch.

I am not completely certain about some of the colors of these patches due to the lighting in the digital photos. If anyone can confirm or correct the colors shown in the table above, please feel free to do so.

Chris Brightwell of Coosa lodge just pointed out something (in my opinion) pretty darned obvious about Wahissa’s Fall Fellowship patch, shown at the top of this post.
Here’s the set Coosa issued for the 2002 NOAC.
It sure looks like the guys in Wahissa were copying Coosa’s design!
Not hardly. The totem pole patch that was made in 2008 was a replica of the Totem Pole found at our Council Camp of Raven Knob right by our OA Arena. I believe some members of Coosa visited Camp Raven Knob for a life changing week at our summer camp, and to commemorate the event they made a patch identical to our totem pole.
A couple corrections to the article. The Eagle at the top is for our Fall Fellowship Patch. If you would like the image of all five patches separate, or together please let me know. My contact information can be found on our Lodge website: wwww.wahissa.org
Down to the chest pattern and the claws, it looks like Coosa’s bird came from the Atlanta Hawks. Perhaps some patch designers from Coosa are NBA fans.
