Wahissa 118 R10?

There are still more issues from Wahissa lodge that have been recently sent to me. Once again thanks to Travis Gentry for word of these items and the images.

The first “new” issue to report is a round issued for the ceremonies team in 2004.   It is pictured at the head of this post.     I have labeled this R10.

The second issue came out earlier this year.     It is for those who have completed the lodge’s LLD training.     I have labeled this the X17.

There is some disagreement among collectors over how to list the three NOAC patches from Wahissa for the 2006 NOAC. Due to their odd shape I have listed them as X14? through X16?. Others have pointed out the lodge considers these to be their NOAC flaps. I agree, but note these are not flap shaped. There is established precedent, dating back to the early issues of Blue Ox 26, for listing odd shaped patches worn as flaps as “X” issues instead of “F” or “S”. A local example would be the X2 from Croatan 117 issued by that lodge for the 1994 NOAC.

If it is ultimately decided these should be listed as S issues, the patch labeled “X17?” would likely be renumbered as “X14?”.

The Blue book data for these two issues are as follows:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
R10? YEL R M/C WHT YEL fdl; Wahissa Ceremonies
X17? BLK R BBL WHT BLK fdl; Wahissa Trained
