Last Saturday, December 20th, I attended the 2008 Old Hickory Trade-O-Ree, sponsored by Wahissa lodge.     As my collecting interests are now confined to a very specialized area, I didn’t do much trading or buying, but it was a good opportunity to get out and see some friends and acquaintance that I don’t get see that often.   It was also a good chance to play with and show off my new Black Berry Storm.

Attendance seemed lower than I remember it in past years.   Some people I would have expected to see there did not make it this year.     Part of this could be due to the proximity of this event to Christmas and the poor economy.       To their credit, the lodge was actively publicizing the date next year’s event:   December 19,2009.

One of the more interesting pieces acquired there is the jacket/shirt shown at the top of this post.   A Florida collector and friend of mine was a bit upset no one called him to tell him about this item, but it did change hands quickly and quietly.     I suspect the deal was arranged in advance.

The lodge was also raising fund for a scholarship in the memory of Josh Davis, a young lodge member who passed away in 2007.     Towards that end a complete set of Camp Raven Knob patches was auctioned off.   Unfortunately, I did not win it.

Here’s a few more pictures from the show that I courtesy of my new gadget/toy, the Blackberry Storm.
