Narraticong 9 ZS8?

Narraticong 9 ZS8?

Randy Holden recently sent me images of two fakes from this lodge that had been making the rounds for at least a year now. They have appeared repeated on eBay. These are forgeries of the lodge’s S7 and S8. Randy has tentatively labeled these the ZS7 and ZS8 and I will follow his lead on this site.

These fakes are very easy to spot.   The original issues were made using “Swiss embroidery”.     The fakes use the contemporary   “computer design” embroidery.

Randy Holden also tells me:

…The originals were made for the 1983 NOAC at Rutgers were Narraticong was the host lodge.   Richard Hammerle of Jersey City made the original issues on his German Swiss embroidery machines with clear plastic backs.   These latest issues are clearly computer stitched with a plastic back  and a visibly  white back…

For comparison purposes here are all four patches:

Narraticong S7

Narraticong S7

Narraticong 9 S8

Narraticong 9 S8

Narraticong 9 ZS7?

Normally the catalog numbers for fakes and forgeries bear no relation to the numbers for the patches faked. It is only a coincidence that the ZS7 is a fake of the S7 and ZS8 is a fake of the S8.
