2009 Central Region Chief Flaps Issued
In late December 2008, the OA’s 2009 officers were elected. I had previous posted on this blog about the new region chiefs and national officers. Those who collect national officer patches already have cloth to chase! At least one lodge has already been able to get approval from the BSA’s licensing authorities and issue flaps for one of these new officers.
Ku-Ni-Eh lodge has issued two flaps as “Home of the Central Region Chief”, and paying tribute to Michael Beckman. Dick Pryor (thanks!) had sent these images to me back in mid-January but I have been very slow to add them to the site.
The red border flap, pictured at the top of this post, is the more common. There is also a more restricted gold mylar (GMY) border flap with the design. I have tentatively numbered these S82? (RED) and S83? (GMY). There are some inconsistencies in how some of this lodge’s event flaps are listed so these numbers will likely change by the time the next Blue Book database is published.
I think this has to be the quickest lodge to issue patches for a regional or national officer from their lodge. The chiefs were elected in late December. Dick Pryor had the images to me on January 19th.
