Catawba lodge has recently issued a patch that is awarded to those who help staff the the “Indian Village” the lodge runs during its Fall Fellowship.       Thanks to Larry Banks for news and the image of this piece.

The words “Awenhake Utenay” are prominent on this patch.   I am told they mean Indian City,   which is as close to to “Indian Village” as the lodge was able to find.     I do not know what language this was taken from.

There is a set of requirements an Arrowman must complete in order to earn this patch.   He must work a minimum of five O.A. events that contribute toward the village.     These include   activities such as   stripping and sanding tipi poles,   planning activities for the village,   cleaning up and adding new things to the village.   One of the five activities must include service in the village during Fall Fellowship or helping with the set-up of that village.

As this patch is earned by a completing a set of requirements and just for a specific event, I believe it should be listed as a lodge issue rather than an events piece.     The listing data for this item are as follows:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
X17? M/C R/C M/C - YEL fdl; GMY R/E border with RED arrow at bottom; Awenhake Utenay
