  • Bear Grylls- Chief Scout
  • June 7, 2009 – The Scout Association has appointed a new Chief Scout. You can see the British Chief Scout performing some of what he thinks are his primary duties in the video at this link. According to him, one of the reasons Scouting is still growing is because it is so much fun.

Fun? What? No mention of an FOS campaign? No mention of a large corps of professionals and office staff?

The Chief Scout was actually having FUN with the youth membership. He wants to visit as many UNITS as possible during his five year tenure. Not that’s not council banquets, big national events, or training seminars but actual units.

Wow, what a difference there is between Scouting in the US and in the UK.
