Lodge 119: Be My Valentine
Tomo Chi-Chi lodge issued two odd-shaped patches for last Spring’s SR-5 Conclave, the Dixie Fellowship. One of these is a bright pink monochrome, guaranteed to rile some Scouters and Scouts*. Both have the same design. Thanks to Alan McDonald for these images.
The lodge adopted a lovely theme for this year’s Dixie Fellowship and decided to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day in April. I have accidentally deleted Alan’s email, but I believe the pink monochrome version of this was a “delegate” issue with the full colored version being the more common of the two. If any readers can correct me on this, please do so.

*Pink patches tend to get Scout leaders and some youth riled up. Some deliberately choose to use pink just because of that reaction: the brighter the better! I get a laugh from items like these. Some day I really need to write a post about the history of pink patches here in the Carolinas! For those who think this them is inappropriate, I’ll just remind them to remember how all OA brothers have been admonished for the past 95 years.
