Lodge of the Southern Region Chief Patches: Update

Posted in Patch Collecting by John E. Pannell on February 16th, 2012 at 6:00 am

Back in 2007 I wrote several posts highlighting the patches issued by the various lodges over the years for the national and regional officers of the Order of the Arrow.   The first of these posts covered patches issued for the Lodge of the National Chief.   I also published an update for the 2008 National Officer patches.    Next up are patches for the recent Southern Region Chiefs.

Images Needed
The 2009 Southern Region Chief was Mark Norris of Woa Cholena Lodge. I have been told Woa Cholena lodge issued two flaps, WHT and SMY borders in Norris’ honor. I currently need images of these for the site.

Don Combs, from Kawida Lodge, was elected the 2010 Southern Region Chief.  Kawida lodge issued a single flap, listed here as S70?, in Combs’ honor.
No Issues Known
Dwayne Fontenette of Chilantakoba lodge was elected the 2011 Southern Region Chief.  I do not yet know of any issues from Chilantakoba for Fontenette’s tenure.

I hear through the Facebook grapevine that David Joyner of Nayawin Rar 296 is the Southern Region Chief for 2012 and that the lodge made 2 flaps to honor David. A red border flap that lodge members could buy (unlimited) and a yellow border flap that is exclusively for David to distribute.

Greg, you are correct, but you already know this becasue i saw you this weekend at 296 Spring Fellowship. Just wanted to confirm on here for readers. Yes red border is for sale to brothers, but they can only buy 25 from the council office. Yellow borders were given to David to use as his ‘walking around’ flap (As JP put it). I have sent images to John for OAImages.
